Program Description

Program Overview

This program consists of a specialization within the Bachelor of Theology.


Students specializing in Christian Counseling take both the Foundation of Faith and the Fundamental Modules of the Bachelor of Theology before taking another track of ten specialization modules. They can also transfer the equivalent of 80 credits from a recognized institution.


Upon completion of the required program modules, students are awarded a Bachelor of Theology in Christian Counselling. This specialization track prepares students either for ordained ministry in a Christian church or for a wider engagement in society.

Program Pathways and Structure

Foundation of Faith:

Ten compulsory modules of 40 credits providing an ideal starting point for students who desire to know God’s Word and need a basic Biblical foundation for Spirit-filled Ministry.


Fundamental Courses

Ten modules of 40 credits that provide the best ministry preparation. Upon completion of these modules, students will be able to integrate Christian principles into critical thinking and decision-making. The modules prepares the student for further study in the various specialization tracks of our Bachelor’s Degree.


Specialization Courses:

Additional ten, specialization modules of 40 credits, aligned with Christian Counselling.

Learning Outcomes

Upon the successful completion of the Christian Counselling Specialization, the students should be able to:

  1. Serve in ministry such as a local church and develop abilities and virtues that will prepare them for their calling and career
  2. Provide an in-depth Biblical foundation to supply the values, knowledge and skills needed to effectively serve in Christian counselling ministry
  3. Formulate essential principles and ethics of Christianity
  4. Achieve personal growth in Christian counselling ministry through the integration of theory and practice
  5. Be conversant with an array of counselling approaches, both Christian and secular
  6. Display a basic competence in interviewing skills and counselling techniques
  7. Show familiarity with the classical personality theories
  8. Gain the necessary knowledge, practice, and skills for working with individuals, couples, children, families, and small groups in a variety of mental health settings
