Will There Be Any Chance of Salvation for Those Soon Left on Earth After the Rapture?

Very soon, the world is going to experience thousands of Christians suddenly disappearing from the earth. This event, happening in the blink of an eye, is the rapture as described in the Bible (1 Corinthians 15:51-52; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17) and should not cause panic as it has been prophesized. The rapture signifies a divine protection for Christians, sparing them from facing the wrath of God, as He did in the days of Noah (Matthew 24:37). As stated in Romans 8:1, "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus," and in 1 Thessalonians 5:9, "For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ."

However, it will be too late for those left on earth to avoid the horrible seven years of tribulation. The Bible indicates this as an hour of complete darkness (1 John 2:18-29; Revelation 17:10-12). This darkness, due to the removal of the Church and the absence of the Holy Spirit, signifies severe trials and tribulations. During this 7-year reign of the Antichrist, God's wrath will be poured out upon the earth (Revelation 16:1). These judgments will manifest through various plagues, natural disasters, and catastrophic events, highlighting the severity of God's punishment on a world that has rejected Him amidst the current greatest apostasy. It is important to note that the catastrophes that are soon unfolding are orchestrated by the current Babylonian system (a word to the wise), but God will allow them to happen and use them to judge His enemies (Revelation 6:15-17). The question remains: is there any chance of salvation for those left behind after the rapture?

Is There a Second Chance for Salvation After the Rapture?

The question of whether salvation will be possible for those left on Earth after the rapture has always raised curiosity. Scriptures mention that many Jews will recognize the truth of the Gospel and turn to Christ. The 144,000 Jewish witnesses (Revelation 7:4) are Jewish believers who will come to faith and minister across tribulation. Revelation 7:9-14 shows the results of their ministry. Other relevant Old Testament verses include Zechariah 12:10, Ezekiel 37:21-23, and Isaiah 11:11-12. These passages highlight the future recognition and turning of the Jewish people to Christ during the end times.

However, there have been varying stances about Gentiles. Some argue that only Jews will have that chance. However, Revelation 7:9-14 describes “...a vast multitude from every nation, tribe, people, and language…” who have washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb, indicating that they have received salvation through Jesus Christ. Another view is that those who hear the gospel and reject it before the rapture cannot be saved. Hence, those saved during the tribulation are those who had never heard the gospel before the rapture. The reason given is that “they refused to love the truth and so be saved” (2 Thessalonians 2:9-11). Additionally, 2 Thessalonians 2:11-12 warns that God will send a "powerful delusion" to those who have rejected the truth before the rapture. This delusion will cause them to believe the lies of the Antichrist, making it even more challenging for them to come to faith.

This underscores the urgency of accepting Christ now, before the rapture occurs. It doesn't make sense to wait until the Church is gone to claim a second chance. It also doesn't make sense if repentance is defined in terms of fearing the sword or a forced choice! Even for those coming to faith during the tribulation, it comes at a great cost with intense persecution, to the extent that Jesus even advised that unless those days were cut short, no one would be saved (Matthew 24:21-22). Deciding to follow Jesus during this time will require immense courage, endurance and faith.

Encouragement for True Christians

To those who are currently walking with Christ, now is the time to ensure we are ready for the rapture. Jesus warned, "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come" (Matthew 24:42). Live a life of holiness and obedience, keeping your focus on eternal things rather than the temporary pleasures of this world (Colossians 3:2).

The signs of the times indicate that our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed (Romans 13:11). Be encouraged and continue to spread the Gospel, knowing that soon we will be with our Lord forever. Let us remain steadfast and vigilant, as Jesus said, "Yes, I am coming soon" (Revelation 22:20).

Current abominations, the proliferation of sin, and lawlessness in the world are paving the way for this "man of lawlessness," the Antichrist (Daniel 9:27, 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4). Particularly, the year 2025 hides many things that will usher in the end. According to current research, significant geopolitical and social changes are expected [in 2025] to align with biblical prophecy. The increasing acceptance of abominations, the push for a one-world government and one-world religion, as well as the planned wars, famines, disasters, and diseases that make life difficult, could be steps towards prophetic fulfillment.

Now more than ever, true Christians must stay ready and live in anticipation of the rapture, knowing that our redemption draws near. May we all be found faithful when our Lord returns.

Conclusion

While the rise of Antichrist will bring about a time of great tribulation, the Church is soon to be raptured as protection against the wrath of God which is going to be poured on earth just after Antichrist rises into power. As stated in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, "For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever." Additionally, 1 Thessalonians 5:9 affirms, "For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ."

For those who wish to live eternal life in God's kingdom, now is the time to respond to the call to salvation (Romans 10:9). Please do not delay, for the Scriptures warn in 2 Corinthians 6:2, "I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation." True Christians must stay ready and live in anticipation of the rapture, knowing that our redemption draws near. As it is written in Matthew 24:42, "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come." May we all be found faithful when our Lord returns.

The events unfolding around us, especially the 2024 Olympic Games, served as a platform to communicate to the world that a lawless leader is coming. But to those who believe, our Lord is also coming. As it says in Revelation 22:20, "He who testifies to these things says, 'Yes, I am coming soon.'" Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.
